About us

We decided to continue helping other children who were being treated in the hematology and intensive chemotherapy departments of the West Ukrainian Specialized Children's Medical Center. And once, after a sad event, we were told the phrase: "You have an angel on your shoulder now!". These words became important for us, volunteers, so we decided to create a fund called "With an angel on our shoulders".

So on June 22, 2017, the foundation was registered and this date is our official birthday.
Our activities spread to the oncology and surgery departments, the Mobile Hospice for Children department of the West Ukrainian Specialized Children's Medical Center. One of the group's projects was celebrating the birthdays of sick children in the departments of the West Ukrainian Specialized Children's Medical Center. Over time, this project became permanent and to this day we celebrate the birthdays of sick children every month for their smiles! After all, a smile is a necessary helper of recovery!

Subsequently, we began to take care of children deprived of parental care, patients of the Lviv Psychiatric Hospital and closely cooperate with the Lviv Regional Blood Service Center, etc.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, we began to support the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, internally displaced persons, defenders of Ukraine, released from captivity, and severely wounded defenders with amputations, who are in the DNP "Halichyna Complex Rehabilitation Center".

Our biggest projects were:
- renovation of the department of hematology and intensive chemotherapy;
- creation and arrangement of the Stem Cell Cryobank for the Bone Marrow Transplantation and Oncology Clinic;
- provision of blood clot concentrate for children with hematology oncology and creation of a donor register;
- arrangement of game rooms in three departments of ZUS DMC;
- equipping the rehabilitation department of the DNP ""Halychyna" Complex Rehabilitation Center" with simulators;
- "Soft Touch" - a permanent project to provide hygiene products for the wards of the Mobile Hospice for Children;
- "Mobile blood center"

In addition, the foundation set up a humanitarian warehouse, thanks to which assistance was provided to the needy in the amount of more than UAH 250 million.

OUR HISTORY:

In 2015, we, then just acquaintances and friends, rallied to raise funds to save the life of 5-year-old Nazarchyk, who urgently needed a bone marrow transplant from a non-family donor. Together with other organizations and volunteers, funds for transplantation were collected in the shortest possible time!

Foundation Team

Our team is almost 100 active volunteers, aged from 18 to 70, united by one goal: to help people.
In 2023, our volunteers held 111 charity events, which is 2048 hours of volunteer time

In the first quarter of 2024, we have already held 40 charity events, which is almost 760 hours of volunteer time.
